Our Story Began in 1944
Gladys Mills started Gotham Realty in 1944 as a single working mother in New York City. There were few doors open to working women at that time, but Gladys found her way in, discovering opportunities other brokers overlooked and closed deals other people thought were too hard. That combination of identifying customer’s priorities, sourcing the solution and persevering until she closed the deal became the family's real estate touchstone, and still is.

Now, Four Generations Later
Gladys's daughter Vivian is still involved in the business today. Her granddaughter Sarah has run the firm for years, handling brokerage, sales, leasing, property management and consulting work across New York and Connecticut. Sarah's daughter Rachel brings the energy and technological proficiency of a new, fourth generation. Whether it's finding the right office space, structuring an investment, or managing a property, the approach hasn't changed since 1944: know the client, know the deal, and don't quit until it's done right.
